Engineering Base provides open interfaces at all levels of its architecture. At the desktop level, an API (Application Programming Interface) enables all objects to be accessed with C# or VBA, as is familiar from Office applications. And at the server level, web services are available that make it possible to access individual objects or to retrieve and enter large amounts of data using the special EBML format (open XML format). These interfaces are fully documented and accessible to all users.
Engineering Base offers ready-to-use import/export solutions for various simulation tools, such as Aspen Plus. Even in-house simulation tools can be easily integrated. Transformation into EBML enables seamless importing no matter what format the results are outputted in. This allows stock and material flows, container capacities, and other typical variables in a production process to be simulated effectively, greatly simplifying process planning.
Engineering Base supports a wide range of calculation tools. These include both general tools, such as ETAP for cable sizing and primtech, and specialized tools, such as HTRI for heat exchangers and CONVAL for valves. These tools enable precise calculation of pipe flow rates, pressures and drive sizing. Seamless integration of these tools ensures efficient and accurate planning processes.
EXCEL-based calculation tools have previously been used in isolation by many companies. Integration with Engineering Base ensures that these tools are working with up-to-date data at all times. Their results are incorporated into Engineering Base's digital twin without any errors, greatly increasing the efficiency and accuracy of planning processes. This keeps all calculations permanently up to date and consistent.
The AUCOTEC integration team will be happy to cater to your particular requirements. We have even managed to integrate users' very specific, in-house developed tools into Engineering Base. And if you use Excel-based tools, for example, we can speed up integration significantly with the help of ready-made modules.
