Our sustainability pledge

Construction of our new headquarters in Isernhagen also laid the foundations for our sustainability strategy. The building is equipped with cutting-edge air conditioning technology and carbon-neutral recycled tiling has been laid throughout. We also source our energy exclusively from renewable energy plants, so every kilowatt hour consumed at AUCOTEC HQ is climate neutral. Our purchase of green electricity supports regional projects promoting renewable energies and sustainable climate protection measures. A certificate from our energy supplier confirms that generating the electricity we require in this way releases up to 203 metric tons of CO2 less per year than would be the case with the average electricity mix in Germany.

If our employees don’t travel to work with the bus or train services that stop outside our gates in Isernhagen, they can top up their e-bikes or electric cars climate-neutrally and with a clear conscience from the charging points we have installed. The green energy we use also ensures that we are now much more sustainable in how we do even simple things such as drying our hands; we can now say goodbye to the mountains of paper towels that used to build up each year. To minimize unnecessary energy consumption, AUCOTEC HQ is also fitted with automatic light control systems. Plus, remote working and the digital team-working methods we were already using before covid hit also contribute to climate protection. Indeed, online meetings sometimes mean car journeys – or even flights – can be avoided.

Our climate protection project

We are supporting a recognized climate protection project in Rajasthan, India that is certified to international standards. The two wind parks at the site supply around 100,000 people in one of the economically weakest regions of India with clean energy. But that’s not all: a number of social and environmental programs are tied into the project, meaning that it can contribute to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – in the form of greater gender equality, quality education, clean water and jobs with decent working conditions, for example.
