AMAZONEN-Werke H. Dreyer GmbH & Co. KG have opted for the AUCOTEC software Engineering Base (EB) in order to introduce a group-wide CAE system in electronics design. It was particularly important for the globally operating agricultural machinery manufacturer that the system would not only be used for design purposes, but would also provide comprehensive and transparent information to everyone involved. AMAZONE is one of the leading manufacturers of advanced fertiliser spreaders, crop protection sprayers, seeders and tillage machines with approximately 1800 employees and more than 500 million euros in turnover. As of now, the EB platform structures its processes for electrical engineering documentation and makes them transparent - from preliminary development up to series support, including communication with other departments. Once it has implemented the software at its North German headquarters in Hasbergen, AMAZONE will extend its use to all sites.
Consistent flow of information
"EB results in a clear flow of information for us between tender documentation, external production facilities, internal work preparation and finally service", explains Michael Nagel, Head of Electronics Development, "This significantly improves the quality of diagrams and documents and also secures expertise for us." Other important conditions in the decision-making process were the configurability of the system for AMAZONE's variety of modular variants as well as the integration of PLM. "We think that we can achieve this with EB", says Uwe Mayer, who significantly supported AMAZONE as an external consultant when searching for the optimum system and during its implementation. For three months, the agricultural machinery experts put the software through its paces. "We were won over by the ease of operation of EB as well as its 100% consistency due to the database", says Mayer. He also stresses the symbiotic connection between the users and the AUCOTEC team: "AUCOTEC has understood our requirements perfectly and we will implement them together."
"Optimally playing to its strengths"
"The modularity and distributed planning beyond departmental and site boundaries make AMAZONE the ideal partner because this is the exact environment in which EB can optimally play to its strengths," explains Uwe Vogt, Executive Officer of Aucotec AG, upon announcing the AMAZONE decision. "We are looking forward literally to a fruitful cooperation!"
